about

PAUL: This was an oldie but a goodie. One of the first songs we played together as a four piece and some real good memories of playing it in different venues. Love the whooooooooooooooo says. Great refrain and very catchy indeed.

JAMES: Always really enjoyed doing this song live; having different vocalists for the verses and choruses gave it a different energy to the other songs in the set. Lee wrote this one toward the latter days of Echotone as a two-piece — you can hear that version on Hanging Out — but it really came alive as a full band. Some of our earlier songs benefit from the sparser arrangements of a duo; ‘Who Says?’ was a real stepping stone to the four-piece Echotone in that it found a new level with more players and instrumentation. We ended up opening a lot of shows with it.

lyrics

I drink my bottle and I have a good time
Who says?
Forget my worries I was feeling so high
Who says?

Sink the bottle and take one more
Yeah things will be fine
I pick myself up from off the floor
Why do I cry?

I tripped myself up, I don’t know why
Who says?
I take a minute looking up at the sky
Who says?

Sink the bottle and take one more
Yeah things will be fine
I pick myself up from off the floor
Why do I cry?

Sink the bottle and take one more
Yeah things will be fine
I pick myself up from off the floor
Why do I cry?

I drank my bottle and I had a good time
Who says?
Forgot my worries I was feeling so high
Who says?
Who says?
Who says?
Who?
