about

JAMES: Testament to the magic of the portable glockenspiel, which we liked so much we ended up using it on ‘Every Passing Day’ (with Paul playing that time, whereas Mel plays it here) on Things We Lost as well.

This one came along at the same time as ‘Out On The Town’ which touches on similar themes; in fact looking at this it strikes me that this is one of quite a few songs on this collection that make reference to drinking or being drunk! Don’t hold it against us, dear listener, we were young and carefree at the time.

lyrics

Oh, where do you go to?
Oh, where do you go to?

Out on the town
I feel like I’m drunk as a skunk
Too many pints
I know that all my spirits are sunk

Oh no, I think I’ve had enough tonight
Oh no, I really don’t want to fight

Leave me alone
I’m gonna tell you where to go
Leave me alone
I’m gonna tell you where to go

Oh, where do you go to?
Oh, where do you go to?

Out with my friends
We’re bouncing with the beat of the drum
Up to no good
And hope the morning never comes

Oh no, I think I’ve had enough tonight
Oh no, I really don’t want to fight

Leave me alone
I’m gonna tell you where to go
Leave me alone
I’m gonna tell you where to go

Oh, where do you go to?
Oh, where do you go to?
Oh where do you go?
Oh
