JAMES: We recorded the entire Cloud 666 EP over a long weekend at Lee and Mel’s old house in Braintree. We’d done some recording at a studio in Essex and were keen to be in total control of the process for the first time. We set up Paul’s drumkit in the front room and spent the entire first day annoying the neighbours (drums recorded, Paul then spent the entire second day getting sunburnt in the garden). We launched the record at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, which was a real treat for us as dyed-in-the-wool Beatles fans.
